With its colorful illustrations and easy-to-ready text, Police Officer Mommy’s target audience is children from 2 to 8 years old who have a police parent or are just curious about police officers and what they do while on duty.
“This story follows a police officer’s day through the eyes of a child,” said Anaya, who served in the Army and as a police officer in California and Washington state. “I have a lot of insight into many different aspects of the story as the daughter of a police officer, a medically retired police officer myself, and the wife of a current police officer with three children.”
